There are so, so many reasons as to why Rose was an amazing companion for The Doctor, and in my opinion the best. I believe the main reason was because she changed him. Prior to Rose, The Doctor was a man to deflect and never look back at what has happened to him and what happened to the other Time Lords. She made him look back. She made him not only realize that it was okay to, but made him feel comfortable to do so. He burnt out a sun just to say good bye to her. No other companion got a good bye like that. She was spunky and knew how to have fun, but also fought to do the right thing when it was needed. She risked her life for him as he so often did for her. No other companion fit The Doctor so well. Rose Tyler will forever be the only one to come to mind when someone mention’s The Doctor’s companion.
